Position: ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER I SUPERVISOR-Wabash

Position Overview

Administrative Officer I Supervisor (Grade 13) – Wabash District Court Division office in Baltimore City. Responsible for supervising and coordinating support staff operations, managing workload, collaborating with leadership, representing the office in administrative matters, and serving as the primary problem solver for daily issues.

Position Duties

The Administrative Officer I Supervisor directs and monitors all office workload, attorney and support staff interactions, and ensures effective operation within the office. The Supervisor oversees planning, scheduling, and management of all workplace tasks, leads strategy and long‑term planning discussions, and manages relationships with contract attorneys and outside organizations. They handle staff issues, client‑related inquiries, logistic problems, and docket preparation, serving as the key point of contact for daily operational challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

• One year of administrative staff or professional work, or 30 college credit hours, or U.S. Armed Forces military service as a commissioned officer involving staff work with independent judgment and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience planning, directing activities, or managing daily operations of an organizational unit or program.
  • Experience working with a disadvantaged client base.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications.
  • Ability to track and analyze data.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in a law office or court system, interacting with detained or incarcerated persons, attorneys, law enforcement, or courtroom personnel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, multi‑tasking and problem‑solving skills.
Licenses and Registrations

Employees assigned to duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license in Maryland.

Selection Process

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be admitted to the examination. Successful candidates will be ranked and placed on the employment list for at least one year.

Examination Process

The examination will assess education, training, and experience related to the position requirements. Applicants are expected to provide complete and accurate information on their application.
