The Administrative Specialist III Supervisor will serve as the lead fiscal, budgetary, and administrative officer for the Air Quality Permits Program and will independently ensure all fiscal, budgetary, and administrative duties related to the everyday operation of the program are accomplished efficiently, effectively, and in a timely manner.
ResponsibilitiesDirectly support the agency’s mission to improve and maintain air quality to protect the health and welfare of the people and environment of Maryland, while providing for enhanced community service and economic development.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.
- Alternative experience may be substituted by 30 college credit hours per year of the required experience or by U.S. Armed Forces NCO experience with regular use of independent judgment and analysis of rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months of experience using office software programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Teams) and/or Google Suite (Chrome, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Meet).
- Six months of experience using databases for data entry, research, and information recovery.
- Six months of experience composing and sending correspondence to customers via e‑mail and hard copy mail.
- Six months of experience preparing requisitions, making payments, and arranging training and travel for staff.
Employees may be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle. Those duties will require possession of a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
