Mercy Medical Center is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to work in its Health System. The primary responsibilities of the Contracts Manager include working with vendors to achieve the optimal contractual position together, exploring savings opportunities, and coordinating product standardization efforts across Mercy Health Services. The Contracts Manager researches and develops background data to support the negotiation of agreements for the Mercy Health System, and has full responsibility for the timely and accurate drafting, redlining and execution of agreements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze, develop and prepare detailed agreements in a timely manner.
- Preparation of price/cost analyses, formulation of negotiation strategies, and the development of negotiation objectives.
- Good and sound understanding of contractual clauses and redlining.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and flexibility to adapt to a dynamic work environment to meet organizational objectives.
- Capacity to produce professional documents in each program and incorporate the use of pivot tables, charts/graphs and advanced formulas.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Healthcare Management/Policy, or related field required. - Three to five years of experience in a corporate or hospital purchasing environment.
- Previous paralegal experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Supply Chain Management Systems.
- Premier Connect ERP knowledge is preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Hybrid role – required to be in the Baltimore office a few times per week at minimum.

- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with a focus on project management software, Supply Chain Information Systems, and business intelligence programs.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.

- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with others.
- Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and be able to work in a team.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Other Requirements
- Working knowledge of current contract management and supply expense reduction strategies.
- Ability to coordinate and assist in leading contracting and cost reduction initiatives.
- Ability to manage self and environment during difficult situations involving peers, management, other disciplines, and vendor representatives.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to produce professional documents with pivot tables, charts/graphs, advanced formulas, and redline functionality.
- Ability to become a super user and staff resource for other software tools.
Minimum: USD $31.94 per hour. Maximum: USD $57.49 per hour. Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid‑portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
