Position: Classification and Compensation Analyst (TE)

Description

MARYLAND TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION (MTA) – Classification and Compensation Analyst (TE) (2366). This is a temporary, one‑year employment opportunity with no state paid benefits. Open to all qualified applicants.

Responsibilities include conducting in‑depth evaluations of MTA positions, preparing detailed written reports, providing strategic alternatives to address problems, conducting thorough job analyses, serving as a key representative in classification determinations, communicating difficult classification matters, and contributing to or participating in special studies and projects related to classification and compensation.

Qualifications

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university.

Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience in classification, compensation, and job analysis.

  • Thirty graduate semester credits in HR administration, business administration, public administration, statistics, tests and measurements, or psychology may be substituted for one year of experience.
  • Paraprofessional HR experience or professional HR management work experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis for up to four years of the required education.
  • Equivalent U.S. Armed Forces military service experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis for up to four years of the required education.
Licenses & Certifications

Employees may be assigned duties that require operation of a motor vehicle. A valid motor vehicle operator’s license in the state of Maryland is required.

Additional Information

Employees should adhere to all safety rules, policies, regulations, and personal protective equipment requirements. Employees may attend and participate in safety meetings and should report hazards, unsafe acts, near misses, injuries, and accidents immediately to the Office of Safety and supervision.

Employees must refrain from willful violations of safety rules and procedures, reckless and negligent behavior, involvement in criminal activities, and misuse of drugs or alcohol. Failure to adhere to these requirements may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
