Senior Accountant
The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) is a multi-mission science operations center for NASA's flagship observatories. Our world-class astronomical research center is based on the Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus in Baltimore, Md. STScI seeks a Senior Accountant to provide maintenance and reconciliation of all government and institutional assets within accounting and property management systems. Serves as a liaison directly with external auditors, property custodians and stakeholders to ensure compliance with Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR), DCMA audit standards, Uniform Guidance and GAAP.
This individual will enhance audit readiness, optimize resource utilization, and streamline operations efficiently.
This position can support hybrid work. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to our local market. (MD, DE, VA, PA, DC & WV).

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to utilize its features effectively.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with specific experience in government contracting and auditing highly desirable.
The salary range for this role is $80-95k annually. The posted salary range represents a general guideline; however, STScI considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as internal pay equity, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's experience, education, and skill, and current market conditions.
