Estimator, Construction, Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to manage the estimating process from bid evaluation through project award. This role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, analyzing subcontractor and supplier pricing, evaluating project risks, and supporting successful project execution through detailed handoffs.

Senior Level

$90,000 - $125,000 per year

This role requires strong construction estimating experience and thrives in a fast‑paced environment where accuracy, organization, and communication are critical.

• Prepare complete project estimates from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs
• Utilize estimating software and bid platforms
• Identify project risks and pricing opportunities
• Work closely with operations, project management, and field teams
• Prepare bid proposals and tender documentation
• Maintain bid tracking logs and reporting
• Conduct post‑bid analysis and supplier comparisons
• Facilitate detailed handoffs to project management teams after award

• 5‑10 years of construction estimating experience
• Commercial or industrial construction experience required
• Electrical estimating experience preferred but not required
• Experience using estimating software such as Accubid or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred

• Baltimore, MD area
• Fully onsite position with minimal travel
