About the Role
Techno is seeking a Construction Inspector to support a high‑profile underground utility and infrastructure improvement project in the Baltimore area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team delivering essential public infrastructure that will have a lasting impact on the community.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in active construction environments, monitoring field activities, collaborating with contractors and project teams, and ensuring work is performed in accordance with project requirements and industry standards. This role offers the chance to be involved in a critical sewer infrastructure program from the field, helping drive quality, safety, and successful project delivery.
What you’ll do- Inspect sewer line installation and related utility construction activities.
- Monitor contractor performance and verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Document daily construction activities, site conditions, workforce, equipment, and quantities installed.
- Identify, document, and communicate construction deficiencies or non‑conforming work.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to support project progress.
- Review excavation operations, trench safety measures, utility installations, and site restoration activities.
- Prepare detailed daily inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates regarding construction progress, quality, and safety observations.
- 4+ years of construction inspection experience on civil infrastructure, utility, water, wastewater, or sewer projects.
- Experience inspecting underground utility installations, sewer mains, force mains, or pipeline construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong written communication and documentation skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and construction site safety practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital field reporting tools.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Experience supporting municipal infrastructure projects for agencies such as the City of Baltimore, Baltimore City Department of Public Works, or similar public‑sector clients is preferred.

The expected salary range for this role in the Mid‑Atlantic Region is $35 – $40 per hour. Total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process.
