Work Schedule: Approximately 80% Field / 20% Office

Work Location: On the Road / Multiple Jobsites

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Superintendent to oversee field operations across multiple active commercial roofing projects throughout the Baltimore/Maryland region.

This is a field-focused leadership position responsible for supervising roofing crews, coordinating subcontractors, managing manpower and materials, maintaining quality and safety standards, and ensuring projects stay on schedule.

The Superintendent will serve as the company's primary field representative, working closely with Project Managers, Estimators, General Contractors, building owners, inspectors, and customers from project mobilization through final completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Leadership:

  • Schedule, supervise, and support commercial roofing crews across multiple jobsites.
  • Conduct daily site visits to monitor production, quality, safety, and progress.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop foremen and field personnel.
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure they meet company quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain strong production and craftsmanship standards across all jobsites.

Project Execution:

  • Oversee projects from mobilization through final inspection and closeout.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, tools, and material deliveries.
  • Read and interpret roofing plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Identify potential design or field conflicts and resolve issues before they impact the project.
  • Troubleshoot field issues and communicate solutions to Project Managers and General Contractors.
  • Monitor production against project schedules and goals.

Safety & Quality Control:

  • Enforce OSHA requirements and company safety policies on every jobsite.
  • Conduct regular quality-control inspections and document findings.
  • Ensure roofing work is completed according to project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
  • Monitor equipment condition and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Address safety or quality issues promptly.

Scheduling & Administration:

  • Coordinate project schedules directly with customers and keep them informed of progress.
  • Order materials and coordinate deliveries based on crew and project schedules.
  • Prepare change orders and assist with small estimates when project scopes change.
  • Provide regular project updates and progress reports to customers and company leadership.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary field contact for General Contractors, building owners, inspectors, and customers.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers and Estimators regarding manpower, materials, scheduling, and production targets.
  • Maintain clear communication between field crews, management, customers, and subcontractors.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of commercial roofing experience, including experience supervising crews or multiple jobsites.

Strong hands-on knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including:

  • TPO
  • EPDM
  • PVC
  • Modified Bitumen
  • Built-Up Roofing
  • Metal Roofing
  • Proven ability to manage multiple crews and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial roofing installation, details, flashings, and terminations.
  • Ability to read and interpret roofing plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel between multiple jobsites throughout the Baltimore/Maryland region.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus.
  • Experience working directly with General Contractors and building owners.
  • Experience preparing change orders or small roofing estimates.
  • OSHA safety training/certification.
  • Experience with commercial roofing project scheduling and production tracking.
