Job Title:Senior Construction Inspector
Location: U.S. Coast Guard Yard, Baltimore, MD 21226
Job Type: Full-Time (Onsite) / Contract
Duration: 24–30 Months (Estimated Oct 2026 – Oct 2028)
Job Overview
Seeking a full-time, on-site Senior Construction Inspector to provide independent quality assurance (QA) surveillance for an Federal energy modernization project at the U.S. Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, MD. You will inspect multi-discipline construction, ensure code and safety compliance, and audit final commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Site QA Inspections: Perform daily field oversight across HVAC, high-efficiency heating, geothermal heat pumps, solar PV (~2.7 MW), battery storage (~4 MW BESS), electrical switch gear, and building envelope work.
- Quality Assurance & Material Verification: Verify delivered major equipment against approved submittals (transformers, BESS, PV panels, boilers, air compressors) before installation
- Safety & Material Oversight: Verify major equipment arrivals against approved submittals; enforce OSHA safety guidelines, site safety permits, and site Accident Prevention Plans (APP).
- Reporting & Closeout: Maintain daily logs, deficiency logs, and photo documentation within Procore; audit commissioning reports, O&M manuals, and PDF/AutoCAD as-built drawings.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Citizenship & Clearances:U.S. Citizen able to pass a Tier 1 background investigation to receive a Common Access Card (CAC) for base access.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of construction inspection/management experience (OR a minimum of 5 years with a 4-year Engineering degree, PE, PMP, or QA/QC certification). Hands-on QA experience in Maryland is required.
- Federal Experience: Minimum 2 years of work experience on Federal Government construction projects within the last 10 years.
- Software:
Demonstrated proficiency with Procore construction management software. - Certifications: Active OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour certification
