Role:

Dental Assistant

• Assist dentists during clinical procedures
• Perform dental radiographs
• Provide patient pre- and post-care instructions
• Maintain infection control standards
• Care for dental equipment
• Restock supplies
• Set up and clean operatory
• Expose and process radiographs
• Adapt care for diverse patient needs

• Six months of related experience or completion of an accredited dental assistant program
• Certification in radiologic procedures
• Knowledge of infection control, dental procedures, and patient privacy
• Proficiency in basic radiography, patient communication, and equipment maintenance

• Ability to handle dental instruments, interpret vital signs, manage dental images, and provide patient education.
• Experience with dental software and working with complex or medically compromised patients is preferred.

• Full performance level is GS-06; roles may range from GS-03 to GS-06.
• Certification by recognized boards (e.g., DANB) is highly desirable.
• Must pass background/security checks, physical exams, and participate in vaccination programs.
• The position involves light lifting, standing, walking, and working closely with others to support patient care in a health-focused environment.
