BCT Design Group is seeking a Planner who is a registered architect with more than 10 years of experience, specializing in district planning, master planning, and transit‑oriented development. Candidates should have experience as an urban designer or landscape architect.
We have a long tradition of master‑planning highly successful, complex, mixed‑use, people‑based environments for clients around the world. Our work is driven by community‑oriented development and redevelopment, with social inclusion, resiliency and sustainability as key components. Projects include sensitivity to streetscapes and public space design. This leadership role will involve active participation in meeting facilitation, community engagement, charrettes and presentations, as well as leading the design effort.
Requirements include strong graphics skills, an academic degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture, a minimum of 10 years of experience in this area, and a strong portfolio of similar work demonstrating scale and complexity. Desired certifications are Certified Planner (AICP) or Landscape Architect (CLARB). Candidates must demonstrate a thorough understanding of planning principles such as massing, building typologies, site circulation, parking, zoning requirements, public processes and project development.
Knowledge of streetscape and the public realm between buildings is essential.
Successful candidates will have advanced graphics skills for data visualization and diagramming, combining hand drawing with modern software techniques to create clear, compelling explanations of design principles. Sensitivity to graphic design—layout composition, typography, and illustration—will be important in presentation material.
