This Sr. Architect role leads and manages complex architectural projects from initial concept through construction administration, with a focus on high-end hospitality and private club environments. You will oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables while managing client expectations and ensuring high-quality, refined design solutions. Partnering closely with firm leadership, you will develop master plans, building designs, presentations, drawing sets, specifications, and construction documents, coordinating closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
The position emphasizes advanced Revit production, strong design sensibilities, and robust project management skills, offering a clear path for career growth within a collaborative and dynamic studio environment.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and manage architectural projects from master planning through all phases, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
+ Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
+ Develop and refine design concepts for planning, architecture, and interior design projects, with a focus on highly refined architectural design solutions.
+ Produce and coordinate architectural drawing sets, project schedules, and design specifications in Revit, following established firm guidelines and standards.
+ Review design and construction documentation for quality, accuracy, and conformity with project design concepts and client requirements.
+ Lead site planning, space planning, and massing studies to create compelling and functional design solutions.
+ Manage architectural projects under the supervision of firmwide leadership, including scheduling within project fee structures and overseeing architectural staff.
+ Mentor and support architectural staff, providing guidance on design, technical detailing, and project delivery best practices.
+ Ensure project designers and architects adhere to internal policies, procedures, and quality standards.
+ Review staffing and scheduling projections for architecture projects and participate in weekly office-wide scheduling meetings.
+ Manage work plans to deliver high-quality presentations and construction documents that clearly communicate design intent.
+ Evaluate project progress, performance, and design goals, adjusting strategies as needed to maintain quality and schedule.
+ Engage directly with high-end private club clientele and other key stakeholders to understand their needs and maintain strong client relationships.
+ Coordinate efforts with all associated technical disciplines and consultants to ensure integrated and timely project deliverables.
+ Assist the production team in preparing and reviewing design and construction documents, ensuring consistency with firm standards.
+ Apply strong knowledge of building codes and technical qualifications to ensure code-compliant and constructible designs.
+ Participate in contract administration activities and utilize AIA documents, CSI specifications, and established project procedures.
+ Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams, including engineering consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other partners.
+ Represent the firm in a professional, client-facing capacity, including periodic travel to project sites for meetings, reviews, and construction-related activities.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture.
+ 15-20 years of professional architectural experience.
+ Proven experience leading and developing architectural designs, supported by a strong portfolio demonstrating creative and refined project solutions.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage the full design process from pre-design and programming through construction administration.
+ Significant experience managing architectural projects, including scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
+ Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
+ Advanced proficiency in Revit for production of architectural drawing sets, schedules, and design specifications.
+ Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and other BIM software tools.
+ Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop for design presentations and visual communication.
+ Demonstrated contract administration capabilities and working knowledge of building codes.
+ Working knowledge of CSI specifications, AIA documents, and standard project procedures.
+ Ability to interpret and apply technical qualifications and codes to design and construction documents.
+ Capability to lead conceptual master planning, site planning, and space planning efforts.
+ Strong organizational and time-management skills to oversee multiple projects and deadlines.
