Project Architect
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Architect with over three years of experience to lead and manage commercial projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative environment alongside a talented team of designers, planners, and architects. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design and documentation of complex projects, including ground-up construction, adaptive reuse, and significant renovations.
Our studios specialize in the housing, commercial, and hospitality sectors, often with overlapping mixed-uses. Knowledge of these areas is highly beneficial. You will be responsible for leading the production of deliverables through all project phases, from schematic design to construction administration, ensuring design quality and compliance with building codes and zoning regulations.
Responsibilities
+ Lead the production of project deliverables from schematic design to construction administration.
+ Demonstrate strong technical leadership and coordinate project documentation.
+ Ensure design quality and compliance with building codes and zoning regulations.
+ Engage directly with clients and contractors to facilitate project success.
+ Mentor junior staff and collaborate closely with Principals, project design leaders, and project managers.
+ Uphold the integrity of the design vision throughout the project process.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
+ Registered Architect with an accredited degree in Architecture.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial projects.
+ Expertise in ground-up construction, renovation, and adaptive reuse.
+ Strong knowledge of construction documents and technical detailing.
+ Familiarity with building codes and zoning regulations.
+ Ability to lead projects through all phases.
+ Experience in client and contractor coordination.
+ Strong communication and organizational skills.

Work Environment
Our firm operates five studios with approximately 75 employees in the Baltimore office. The work is divided across focus areas including commercial projects such as retail, shell buildings, interiors, and restaurants, as well as housing with an emphasis on multifamily and senior living. We have a specialized interiors team and a focus on graphics and signage. The office is located in a recently renovated, modern workspace on the 18th floor of a prime downtown location.
Employees have the flexibility to work remotely one day per week, while being part of a dynamic team with opportunities for professional growth across different studios and project types.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $125000.00/hr.
