The Residential Architect will work full time on-site in the Washington DC–Baltimore Area, collaborating closely with clients and internal team members to design custom residential projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing conceptual designs, creating detailed drawings and plans, preparing project documentation, and coordinating with engineers, contractors, and consultants. The role involves conducting site visits, verifying existing conditions, and ensuring design solutions align with budget, schedule, and local building codes.

The Residential Architect will participate in design reviews, refine plans based on feedback, and support projects throughout the permitting and construction phases. The position also includes maintaining clear communication with clients and contributing to a positive, professional studio environment.

• Strong residential design skills, including space planning, conceptual design, and an eye for elegant, timeless architecture.
• Proficiency in architectural drawing and documentation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, or similar), and ability to produce accurate construction documents.
• Solid understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, permitting processes, and residential construction methods.
• Experience coordinating with contractors, consultants, and engineers, and managing project details from design through construction.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to listen, interpret needs, and present design concepts clearly.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects and deadlines in an on-site studio environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution; professional licensure or progress toward licensure is preferred.
• Prior experience in custom residential architecture is highly beneficial; familiarity with the Washington DC–Baltimore market is a plus.
