Sibley Memorial Hospital is a non‑profit, full‑service 318‑bed acute care community hospital serving the Washington, DC area. The campus hosts a state‑of‑the‑art 24‑hour Emergency Department, as well as surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopaedic, and skilled nursing inpatient services. It is also home to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center and the Johns Hopkins National Proton Therapy Center.

The Physician Assistant (Surgical PA‑C, Licensed) provides direct assistance to the primary surgeon during surgical procedures. Preferred candidates have at least 5 years of experience in surgical assistance or successful completion of a Physician Assistant–Surgical Program or surgical residency.

• Maintain sterile technique during all surgical procedures.
• Perform preoperative histories and physicals on patients assigned to each attending physician.
• Write postoperative notes and orders for each patient in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
• Respond to nursing unit calls regarding clinical management of surgical patients, assessing, diagnosing and writing orders on behalf of the attending physician.
• Perform special clinical procedures under the direction of the attending physician.

• Completion of an AMA‑approved Physician Assistant Master’s Degree Program.
• Active DC License & NCCPA certification.
• Active CDS/DEA licenses.
• Active PECOS enrollment.
• BLS Health Care Provider CPR and ACLS certification required.
• 5 years of multidisciplinary surgical PA experience, including laparoscopic and robotic procedures.

You must be fully credentialed by the Sibley Memorial Hospital medical board with staff privileges to start working.

Minimum $1,000.00/hour – Maximum $1,000.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. Salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls.
