Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist
As part of the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Heart Failure program expansion, the Department of Medicine is actively recruiting a full‑time faculty member to help continue to grow our extensive clinical programs in heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support. The candidate will provide clinical cardiology services both inpatient and outpatient, be in the donor call pool, and take UNOS heart donor call for potential matches of donor hearts to existing UMMC heart transplant candidates.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical cardiology services in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Serve on the donor call pool and perform UNOS heart donor call for transplant candidates.
- Develop a research portfolio with extramural funding under mentorship.
- MD degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent).
- Eligibility for an unrestricted Maryland medical license.
- Fellowship training in advanced heart failure.
- Expected faculty rank:
Assistant Professor or higher.
Assistant Professors: $223,754 (min) – $461,371 (max). Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
