Job Description

The University of Maryland School of Medicine and the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center, located in Baltimore, MD, are currently recruiting a full-time physician to join their faculty. The position is for a Classical Hematologist with strong interest and experience in translational and/or clinical research.

Essential Functions:
  • Rounding on the University of Maryland Medical Center Hematology consultation service.
  • Outpatient consultations and longitudinal care of patients with classical hematology diseases.
  • Education and mentoring of Hematology/Medical Oncology fellows, residents, and medical students in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Leading and participating in translational and/or clinical research.
  • Research Support:
    Clinical and translational research is supported by the UMGCCC Shared Services in our Center for Innovative Biomedical Resources (CI ) and the UMGCCC Clinical Research Office. Interaction with basic and translational scientists is strongly encouraged and supported.

    Expected Faculty Rank:
    Expected faculty rank for this position is Assistant Professor or higher; however, final rank, tenure status, and salary will be dependent on the selected candidate's qualifications.

    Qualifications:
  • M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree.
  • Fellowship training and experience in Hematology.
  • Board-certified in Internal Medicine and board-certified or board-eligible in Hematology.
  • Eligible for a medical license in Maryland.
  • Demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care, education, and research.
