General Description
The Department of Pathology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine seeks a dynamic physician‑leader at the Associate Professor or Professor level to serve as Division Director of Breast Pathology. This individual will lead a highly accomplished and collaborative team of surgical pathologists and provide strategic direction for one of the nation’s premier breast pathology programs.
The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with exceptional diagnostic expertise in breast pathology and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and scholarship. In collaboration with the Director of Surgical Pathology and the Deputy Director for Quality and Regulatory Affairs, the Division Director will play a key role in overseeing and advancing quality assurance and patient safety initiatives within anatomic pathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, with particular focus on the gross room, histology laboratory, and frozen section services.
QualificationsQualifications include an MD, DO, or MD/PhD degree, with board certification or board eligibility in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Maryland is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, a collaborative leadership style, and a proven record of leadership and accomplishment in breast pathology.

Salary RangeThe referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
