Overview

Wilmer Eye Institute is seeking a highly qualified, full-time, fellowship-trained cornea and external disease specialist with a concentration in ocular surface disease and ocular immunology to join the Wilmer Cornea Service with a joint appointment in the Division of Ocular Immunology. The position provides individualized care for patients with ocular surface disorders and complex immune-mediated corneal conditions and is focused on basic, clinical, and translational research.

Primary clinical activity will occur at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore, with potential clinical effort at other Wilmer locations. The candidate will be a faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and will engage in teaching fellows and ophthalmology residents in addition to research activities.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver clinical and surgical care, with emphasis on high-risk corneal grafts, limbal stem cell transplants, and keratoprosthesis.
  • Join the Wilmer Cornea Service with a clinical focus on ocular surface disease and ocular immunology.
  • Engage in teaching fellows and ophthalmology residents and participate in clinical, basic, and translational research.
  • Collaborate across departments and participate in academic medicine and teamwork to support professional growth.
Qualifications
  • Completed an ACGME-accredited ophthalmology residency program and/or certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology or board eligible.
  • Completed a fellowship in cornea and external disease.
  • Training in ocular immunology and post-fellowship work experience preferred.
  • Faculty rank determined by experience and credentials.
