Job Description
The University of Maryland Department of Anesthesiology is growing. We are seeking BE/BC Anesthesiologists interested in joining the Division of Trauma Anesthesiology. Expected rank for these positions is Assistant Professor or higher; however, rank and tenure status is dependent on candidate's qualifications. Responsibilities include clinical care and teaching of fellows, residents, medical students, student nurse anesthetists, and paramedics. The Department offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and a generous retirement plan.
Non-clinical time is available for academic, scholarly and administrative activities.
Anesthesiologists in the Trauma Anesthesia Division care for patients in the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center of the University of Maryland Medical Center, the nation's busiest trauma hospital and a leading center worldwide for trauma-related research. Faculty members are engaged in assessment and resuscitation of trauma patients including critical care and acute pain management. Candidates must be ABA certified (or eligible).
Qualified Candidates with fellowship training in Trauma, Critical Care, or Cardiac Anesthesia are preferred.
Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate's experience.

Salary Range - Base Compensation [Clinical Faculty w/ MD Degree]- Instructor: $310,000 - $440,000
- Assistant Professor: $243,593 - $463,092
- Associate Professor: $302,830 - $492,545
- Professor: $299,029 - $518,934
* The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Department of Anesthesiology faculty compensation program or pay from participation in Department of Anesthesiology incentive compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
