Position SummaryThe Community School Coordinator (CSC) is a full-time, on-site professional responsible for implementing Elev8 Baltimore’s Community School strategy.
The CSC works closely with the Principal, school leadership team, families, and community partners to ensure student success through collaborative leadership, family engagement, partnership development, integrated student supports, and extended learning coordination.
The CSC will lead efforts to strengthen family partnerships, increase access to resources, and align community support with the school’s charter goals and priorities.
Responsibilities1. Collaborative Leadership & School Alignment
- Serve as a member of the school’s leadership, attendance, and student support teams.
- Align Community School priorities with goals, MSDE Implementation Plan and Baltimore City School's Performance Plan.
- Facilitate partner meetings and cross-department collaboration to ensure full integration of community resources within school operations.
- Support data-informed decision-making through needs assessments, asset mapping, and progress monitoring.
- Participate in and contribute to the development of school-wide improvement strategies and events.
- Plan and facilitate culturally relevant family engagement events that strengthen the school-home partnership.
- Identify, recruit, and develop parent leaders and volunteers to support family voice in decision-making.
- Build relationships with neighborhood associations, faith-based groups, and local businesses to strengthen community ties.
- Support communication systems (newsletters, social media, outreach) that inform families of opportunities and resources.
- Develop and sustain partnerships aligned with identified school needs and priorities.
- Plan and draft partnership with MOUs and agreements under the guidance of Elev8 leadership, ensuring final approval is obtained from Elev8 Executive leadership and school leadership prior to implementation.
- Coordinate the delivery of co-located or school-based services (academic, health, enrichment, or social support).
- Seek and manage in-kind donations and small-scale grants to support programs.
- Ensure compliance with data sharing and partnership documentation protocols.
- Collaborate with the student support and attendance teams to identify students facing barriers to attendance, behavior, or academic success.
- Connect families to community-based resources for food, housing, mental health, or other essential support.
- Monitor referral outcomes and ensure follow-through with service providers.
- Support implementation of restorative and trauma-informed practices across the school community.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of partnerships, events, and student/family support.
- Complete required data entry, reports, and outcome tracking for Elev8 and grant funders.
- Provide regular updates to the Principal, Manager of Community Schools, and Elev8 leadership.
- Represent Elev8 Baltimore in external meetings and collaborative networks.
- Attend all required Elev8 Baltimore team meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions.
- Participate in quarterly principal check-ins and divisional coaching meetings.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Public Policy, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum three years of successful experience in community engagement, family partnership, or school-based program coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships across diverse groups and manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with Baltimore City agencies, community resources, and charter school operations.
- Strong data management, communication, and organizational skills.
Full-time, Monday–Friday, aligned with operating hours. Some evenings or weekends may be required for family and community engagement events.
CompensationThe salary for this position is $67,200.00 annually with full benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement, generous paid time off, and support for professional development opportunities.
