Johns Hopkins University is going through a major new investment in data science and the exploration of artificial intelligence. The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering is embarking on an aggressive hiring effort for multiple tenure-track positions.

While we consider all areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering, we are primarily seeking excellent candidates whose research falls into one of the following research areas:

Communications, Networks, and Artificial Intelligence. Software defined networking; network security; mobile networking; coding/compression; AI in wireless.

We are particularly interested in interdisciplinary researchers whose research spans a wide range of areas including national security, societal safety, materials design, public health, clinical care, neuroscience, space systems, and policy. The faculty will be part of the University’s new Data Science and AI Institute and have access to its unparalleled computational infrastructure.

The Department of Electrical & Computer has 32 full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members, 8 research and 3 teaching faculty members, 150 PhD students, over 100 MSE students, and 140 undergraduate students.

Applications will be considered at all levels. The referenced salary ranges are:

  • a cover letter describing the candidate's principal research expertise
  • a curriculum vitae
  • separate statements detailing research and teaching plans
