Middle School English Teacher

Krieger Schechter Day School, a co-educational K-8 Jewish day school, is in search of a dynamic part-time or full-time middle school (5th-8th grade) English teacher to join our creative and dedicated faculty.

We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about guiding students through literacy and writing content and skills. The ideal candidate has a strong academic background in literature as well as experience in differentiating instruction to meet a range of student needs. Preference given to applicants with previous experience working with students who need additional support in writing and reading comprehension and in enrichment for accelerated learners.

Knowledge of best practices, strong instructional techniques, sound classroom management and strong collaboration skills, as well as experience in implementing technology in the classroom are also imperative. Candidates should have at least a B.A. degree (M.A. preferred) and at least two years of experience as an English/writing classroom teacher.

All professionals at Krieger Schechter work as part of a teaching team to develop age-appropriate and engaging curriculum and coordinate cross-curricular learning objectives. Teachers share in covering routine duties and attend weekly faculty meetings, school-wide programming, and other meetings as needed.

• Annual salary of $50,000-$70,000 for FT, depending on experience and qualifications
