The Enoch Pratt Library has an opening for a Library IT Training Officer.  The IT Training Officer is responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating technology training and digital literacy programs for external customers, including senior adults, community center participants, and library branch customers. This position supports the Pratt Center for Technology Training’s mission to advance digital equity, access, and lifelong learning by providing inclusive, high-quality technology instruction to the communities it serves.

The IT Training Officer conducts community-based learning needs assessments; designs and facilitates instructional programs; and develops training materials tailored to diverse populations with varying levels of digital proficiency. Training may be delivered in library branches, senior centers, community-based organizations, and other partner locations, as well as through virtual and hybrid formats.

The IT Training Officer collaborates with library staff, community partners, and City agencies to coordinate training schedules, align programming with community needs, and support outreach and engagement efforts. The position utilizes the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS) and other tools to manage course content, track participation, and evaluate program effectiveness.

This role places a strong emphasis on digital literacy, technology training, and workforce upskilling initiatives that empower customers to access online services, employment resources, education, and essential digital tools.

The IT Training Officer may be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet programming and community needs, and visit other branches.  This position reports to the IT Training Manager.

** Summary of Duties:
*** Collaborate with supervisors and staff to assess and anticipate training needs aligned with the library’s strategic plan.
* Collaborate across departments such as Information Technology, Human Resources, and Public Services.
* Manage multiple programs, schedules, and outreach activities across various locations.
* Gather feedback from supervisors to identify training topics and propose relevant training opportunities.
* Collaborates with the Internal Training Manager to develop, coordinate, and deliver system-wide technology training for library staff.
* Maintain a system to track learning objectives and training participation.
* Design and deliver engaging, accessible technology training for external customers, including seniors and community members with limited digital experience.
* Facilitate training and workshops coordinating with the Libraries Internal Training Manager.
* Establish evaluation criteria for training effectiveness and measure learning success.
* Utilize survey tools to gather feedback and prepare reports with recommendations.
* Coordinate onboarding for new employees, providing an overview of system-wide policies and procedures.
* Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and deliver general staff training on library processes and procedures.
* Assist employees with career path development, competency identification, and goal setting.
* Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements (e.g., sexual harassment prevention, PCI compliance) and maintain training records.
* Promote awareness of training and development opportunities among staff.
* Uphold and model the library’s values and service philosophies
* Serve on committees and participate in workshops, seminars, and training programs.
* Evaluate program effectiveness and use participant feedback and data to improve services.
* Represent the library at outreach activities.
* Build positive relationships with community partners, library staff, and patrons.
