Adjunct Faculty – Civil Engineering
Position:
Adjunct Faculty, Division of Academic Affairs, School of Engineering. Work status:
Part time. Job effective date: 04/10/2026; job end date: 01/24/2030.
The Adjunct Faculty member is responsible for teaching undergraduate or graduate courses on a part‑time basis. This role supports the academic mission of the institution by providing high‑quality instruction, engaging students in learning, and maintaining academic standards in the classroom and/or online environment.
ResponsibilitiesTeach courses (undergraduate or graduate) on a part‑time schedule, design and deliver course materials, assess student work, provide feedback, participate in the use of learning management systems, and contribute to the continuous improvement of curricular programs.
Qualifications- Master's degree in a relevant discipline or a closely related field; terminal degree preferred for graduate‑level instruction.
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in the subject area.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level preferred.
- Experience teaching in hybrid or online formats.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas).
- Proficiency with Google Suite or similar digital tools.
- A Master's degree in Engineering or a related field with at least one year of teaching at the collegiate level is required.
