An ideal applicant will hold an advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, possess significant practical experience in the relevant area, and have successful undergraduate or graduate teaching experience. Ability to teach in other areas is also valued.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute is seeking part‑time adjunct faculty to teach day and/or evening classes for the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Positions are created to provide an available applicant pool for the department and will be filled on an as‑needed basis. Start dates will vary by course and semester.

• Teach from established curriculum, adding personal expertise and experience
• Provide students with timely feedback
• Grade assignments and provide constructive evaluations

• Prior experience teaching college‑level courses required
• PhD in a related discipline preferred; master’s degree in a related discipline required
• Experience with online teaching and the Canvas learning management system preferred but not required
• Applicants should review the WPI course catalog and identify engineering courses they may be qualified to teach

$7,000–$7,500 per course
