Academic Electrophysiologist

Position Overview

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting an Electrophysiologist for its expanding Electrophysiology (EP) Program. Our service is active in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology, including complex ablation of VT and atrial arrhythmias, extractions, biventricular pacing, atrial appendage closures, and innovative device therapy. Candidates will be expected to expand our clinical programs and to provide clinical care to patients at the University of Maryland Medical Center and EP outpatient clinics at its outreach locations.

This position will be appointed as a full-time faculty member at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The expected faculty rank will be Assistant Professor or higher; final rank, tenure status, and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. The salary range for Assistant Professors is $225,831 to $650,000, based on faculty rank and years in rank, excluding variable compensation and other departmental benefits.

• Provide clinical care to patients at the University of Maryland Medical Center and EP outpatient clinics.
• Expand and develop the EP clinical programs.
• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Engage in scholarly research and scholarly activities related to electrophysiology.
• Participate in departmental variable compensation programs as applicable.

• Medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university or foreign equivalent.
• Board eligible or board certified in Cardiac Electrophysiology.
• Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Maryland.
• Strong interest and experience in teaching and clinical activities.
• Demonstrated experience in research.
• Assistant Professor rank or higher (preferred).
