Job Description

Coastal Early Learning Center is a high‑quality childcare center that uses the Montessori Method of Education to teach children 6 weeks to 6 years old.

We are seeking an experienced Infant/Toddler/Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our team. The position is year‑round, full‑time, 40 hours per week. The facility is new and offers competitive pay, paid time off, paid holidays and paid sick leave.

Requirements prior to start date:

• Documentation of prior childcare experience in a state certified child card, along with all certifications (if applicable)
• Must pass Federal and State criminal background check
• Must pass a medical exam

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Ensure a safe, high‑quality Montessori educational environment is maintained
• Monitor the children following the Montessori philosophy and method of education at all times
• Adhere to MSDE Office of Child Care rules and regulations at all times
• Adhere to all Coastal Early Learning Center policies & procedures
• Communicate effectively with the Lead Teacher(s), other staff members and the Administration
• Help with classroom management
• Ensure a clean & healthy environment on a daily basis
• Tend to and help children with basic needs

Qualifications and Skills:

• At least one‑year childcare experience in a state approved setting is a plus but not required for an enthusiastic candidate
• Minimum of a high school education or equivalent is required
• Must pass Federal and State criminal background check
• Must pass a health exam
• Candidate must be willing to become MSDE Preschool Teacher certified and/or MSDE Infant/Toddler Teacher certified
• Montessori certification and/or knowledge is a plus but not required
• Continuing education classes required each year
