The Department of Chemistry, in the School of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences (SCMNS), at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland is seeking a tenure‑track faculty position in Biochemistry at the level of Assistant Professor. The position requires a high level of scholarship and research accomplishments or strong research potential, and evidence of strong teaching. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to evidence‑based teaching methods in the classroom, strong interdisciplinary content knowledge, and effective communication skills.
They will contribute to the interdisciplinary research and teaching environment within the department and within SCMNS.
- Develop a strong research profile and secure external funding to support research and department programs.
- Advise students.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
- Provide service to the department, SCMNS, the university, and national professional organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry and a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry.
- One year of teaching experience.
- Ability to relate well to others within a multiethnic, multicultural academic environment.
- Commitment to working with a culturally diverse student population.
