* DESCRIPTION:

** Under the direction of the Coordinator, Beyond School Hours and Summer Programs, the Secondary English, Social Studies, or Science Teacher plans and delivers targeted learning experiences primarily for students assigned to extended out-of-school suspension. Providing instruction separately in both virtual and in-person environments (hybrid instruction will not be included), the teacher is responsible for developing, selecting, and differentiating instructional plans and materials based on the HCPSS curriculum to meet the needs of all learners.

The ideal candidate will foster a supportive environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of individuals, ensuring academic success for every student.

To support an alternative schedule for students and programming, this position requires the following hours:
* ** Monday – Thursday:
** 12:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
* ** Friday:
** 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
**** Applicants must meet all qualifications below to be considered for the vacancy.

* Education:

*** Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an applicable field of education.
** Certification/Licensure:
*** Meets the Maryland State Department of Education licensure requirements for Secondary English  Language Arts Licensure.
** PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
** The ideal candidate for this role will also possess a combination of the additional qualifications below. If you don’t meet every one of the preferred qualifications, we still encourage you to apply, as we welcome applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
* Three previous years of teaching experience.
* Holds a current Maryland State Department of Education license in Secondary English Language Arts.
