Full-Time Teacher
The successful candidate will teach, coach and advise students, participate in summer programming, and demonstrate commitment to all aspects of the Academy’s mission. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with significant coursework in Religious Studies or another core subject area, and have experience with upper elementary or middle school aged youth. Flexibility in teaching additional subject areas is also a plus.
Teaching at the Academy is an 11-month position that includes participating in the June two‑week residential summer camp and teaching during the month‑long July session.
- Provide for an engaging learning environment conducive to student success that takes students from learning to read to reading to learn
- Communicate knowledge in an interesting, stimulating, and effective manner, using a variety of instructional methodologies, curriculum resources, and materials.
- Examine student assessment data to inform decision making and to guide and improve instruction
- Promote high levels of learning in an engaging and effective manner, using a variety of instructional methodologies, curriculum resources, and materials
- Integrate literacy strategies into the instructional framework
- Fosters a positive classroom culture
- Differentiate instruction to reach all learners
- Plan, organize, and deliver appropriate lessons for assigned area(s) of responsibility, and submit lesson plans to the Principal as required
- Establish and maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning
- Collaborate with fellow teachers on planning, professional development, and curriculum design to contribute to the continuous improvement of instruction at the Academy
- Assess students’ learning in a professional manner and communicate students’ progress to parents and fellow teachers to coordinate future instruction
- Attend parent‑teacher conferences and report card distribution events
- Identify special needs of students and seek additional support, as needed
- Maintain and submit necessary records, progress reports, and grade reports
- Coach athletic programs, advise clubs, and lead extra‑curricular activities as assigned by the Principal, Assistant Principal, or Dean of Students
- Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, staff development programs, and other school sponsored activities
- Attend the graduation ceremony
- Participate in summer programming, including the summer camp and the July term
- Assist in general building supervision and discipline of students outside of the classroom

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or President
This full‑time faculty position is an eleven‑month, salaried, exempt employment position with occasional evening responsibilities. The successful candidate will attend new teacher meetings at the end of June and begin her/his duties in July 2026.
Salary is competitive within the Baltimore area independent school market. Qualifications- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
