Pastor

Israel Baptist Church of Baltimore City, founded in 1891, seeks a full‑time Senior Pastor to provide spiritual leadership, biblical preaching, pastoral care, and administrative oversight during this transition period.

The selected candidate must demonstrate a personal saving faith in Jesus Christ, meet the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership outlined in I Timothy 3:1–7, and exhibit integrity, humility, and sound moral character. Applicants must hold at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, be licensed and ordained within the Baptist denomination, and possess a minimum of five years of senior‑level pastoral experience.

Candidates should have strong expository preaching and teaching ability, experience conducting weddings, funerals, baptisms, and pastoral visitation, and the ability to work collaboratively with Deacons, Trustees, ministry leaders, and the broader congregation. The church seeks a pastor who can cast vision, strengthen discipleship, provide pastoral leadership in times of congregational need, and cultivate meaningful engagement with the surrounding community. Willingness to reside in or reasonably near Baltimore City is expected.
