Job Details

Position Title:

Tutor – Adult GED/NEDP Programs.

FLSA:
Non‑Exempt.

Employment Type:

Full Time / Part Time.

Hours Per Week:
Varies, not to exceed 25 hours per week.

Work Schedule:

Varies, typical time frames are M‑Th, 8:30‑9:30 am, 12‑2 pm, 5‑6:30 pm with Friday and weekend options, too.

Position Salary Range: $30‑$35 per hour.

Summary

One or more vacancies for tutors are available to work with adults pursuing their high school diploma through the GED or NEDP programs. Subjects include mathematics, reading and writing, social studies, and science. This is a temporary, hourly position for one semester which can be renewed based on employee performance. Duties include providing individual and/or small group tutoring for specific classes and topics;

tutoring content and study skill strategies; attending mandatory orientation for new tutors and completing HCC online required training.

The individual will be responsible for completing required administrative tasks including, but not limited to, record‑keeping relevant to tutoring sessions and communications with classroom instructors. Must be willing to work as a team player and abide by grant program policies and procedures.

Experience Required
  • Relevant knowledge in the subject(s) assessed in the GED / NEDP programs.
  • Background and familiarity with adult high school diploma programs a plus!
