Position Title:
Communication Studies Adjunct Faculty Pool
Hours Per Week: 3 hours a week in class (or online) per 3-credit course plus additional time for grading and course preparation.
Work Schedule:
Morning, Afternoon, Evening / Flexible (online).

ResponsibilitiesFor each assigned course, prepare the course materials, update the Canvas course site, attend required faculty/staff meetings, complete required trainings, meet with students as needed, grade and assess student work, deliver quality instruction, and meet other employment-related requirements from the division and the college.
Minimum andPreferred Qualifications
- A master's degree or higher in Communication or a related discipline.
- Prior teaching experience.
- Experience teaching Communication, preferably at a community college.
- Availability to teach in face‑to‑face and/or online classroom environments.
- Ability to learn and use Canvas for course information, assignments, and grades.
Pre‑employment criminal background investigation is a condition of employment.
Only employees residing in states contiguous to Maryland (Virginia, West Virginia, Washington DC, Pennsylvania) are eligible for work didates must live in the commutable area or be willing to relocate at their own expense as HCC does not offer relocation benefits.
