Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Training Specialist to join a dynamic Learning and Development team that supports staff for a non-profit organization that assists people with intellectual and behavioral challenges to achieve their fullest potential. The Training Specialist will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive training programs to team members at various work sites with regional travel, ensuring their continuous growth and development.

This role requires a skilled trainer who can conduct engaging workshops, foster a positive learning environment, and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of behavioral health and / or intellectual and developmental disabilities would be a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct training needs assessments and deliver training to team members across different work shifts and locations.
  • Facilitate training sessions on topics including health and safety practices, new employee orientation, and professional development workshops.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and provide insights for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Learning and Development to design new courses and update training materials.
  • Manage learning administration tasks, including attendance tracking and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory annual training courses.
  • Maintain effective communication with team members, trainers, and management to address training needs.
  • Deliver in-person training at multiple locations.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma (Bachelors Preferred)
  • 3 to 5 years of related training experience
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) Managing Relias Preferred and Ulti-Pro
  • Preferred:
    Valid CPR/First Aid certification, experience working with individuals with disabilities, OSHA training
