Position Overview
The Department of Economics at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland seeks faculty candidates beginning in Fall 2026. All appointees at the Associate and Full Professor level are expected to be preeminent experts in their field, while appointees at the Assistant Professor level should be on the trajectory to become leaders in their fields. We invite candidates for all ranks and all areas of specialization.
EndowedPositions
- The Aronson Family Professorship in Economics prioritizes applicants with expertise in healthcare economics and healthcare policy, or the economics of cities.
- The Steven M. Kaye Professorship of Economics prioritizes applicants whose research focuses on health economics, urban economics, the economics of inequality, labor economics, or public economics more generally.
All candidates should be committed to both research and teaching excellence and are expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

- Salary range for an Assistant Professor position: $184,500 – $209,000.
- Actual compensation offered will be based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and external market conditions.
