Adjunct Biology Faculty Position
Adjunct biology faculty are needed to teach day and evening one‑ and two‑semester Anatomy and Physiology courses at the Community College of Baltimore County (campus may vary). Faculty facilitate learning by preparing and delivering instruction, cooperating with college support staff by timely submission of materials for duplication and grades, and coordinating activities with the Department Chairperson or discipline coordinator.
Adjunct faculty will be available to help students during one office hour each week (for each class), will participate in some departmental or college activities, and are encouraged to participate in professional development.
Campus locations:
Catonsville, MD;
Dundalk, MD; or Essex, MD.
Adjunct Level 1 – $1,085 per credit hour.
Adjunct faculty may teach up to 22 credit hours each year and usually teach no more than 11 credits each semester.
Minimum Requirements- A Master of Science in Anatomy or Physiology or related field with appropriate coursework is required for lecture instructors.
- A Bachelor of Science with appropriate education and experience is required for lab instructors.
- Instructional experience is preferred.
- Supplemental (Retirement Annuities) – 403(b) and 457(b):
Tax‑sheltered annuities (403(b)). Payroll salary reduction authorization is needed. The form is available on SharePoint/Human Resources Forms. The 403(b) supplemental retirement plan is available to all CCBC employees (Adjunct Faculty, Part‑Time Associates, and Full‑Time employees). - Roth 403(b): A savings feature that allows employees to contribute after‑tax dollars and then withdraw tax‑free dollars from the account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is offered by TIAA‑CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part‑Time Associates, and Full‑Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre‑tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post‑tax dollars simultaneously.
Contribution limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and Roth 403(b). - Deferred Compensation Plan – 457(b):
Offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed and available on SharePoint/Human Resources Forms. - Parking
