Provides technical, administrative, and/or instructional support in the planning, development, or administration of English Language Development (ELD) instructional programs. Functions as an educational professional with focus on facilitating or coordinating specific activities relevant to the administration of the ELD program, providing professional guidance and support to ELD and non-ELD staff or teachers, or ensuring the appropriate conduct, implementation, or delivery of ELD instructional programs at the school or district level.
EssentialFunctions
- Provides professional and technical assistance to administrators, teachers and staff in areas related to the implementation of ELD instructional programs, ELD instructional support for teachers and paraprofessional staff, implementation of student services, or operational administration of the district level ELD program under the guidance of the ELD Coordinator and Director of Multilingual Learners.
- Assists in planning and conducting academic or student support programs and activities at the school or district level for Multilingual Learners (MLs).
- Assists in the implementation and support of new initiatives and standards that provide quality instruction, effective student services, and improved outcomes for MLs.
- Assists in providing guidance and support to ELD and non-ELD instructional staff as appropriate.
- Assists in coordinating and facilitating specific ELD instructional programs and projects as assigned.
- Plan and implement professional development presentations or demonstrations for ELD and non-ELD staff.
- Researches and analyzes data and prepares reports and recommendations.
- Assists in interpreting and communicating ELD program specific standards, emphasis, and guidelines.
- Assists in monitoring and evaluating specific ELD programs and activities. Works with ELD Coordinator, Director of Multilingual Learners, and school leadership to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Assists in developing Title III grant proposals, implementing Title III grant programs, and reporting Title III grant activities.
- Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid educator license in English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited college or institution.
- Five years of ELD teaching or related experience.
- Excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills.
- Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficient in the use of technical computer applications including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.
- Ability to facilitate positive communication and coordination of program activities with teachers, administrators, and staff.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data and prepare reports.
- Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations.
- Full time or Part time experience in a similar role.
