Learning Instructor

The Learning Instructor supports the Baltimore/Washington (BWI) station by delivering engaging, high-quality training across Ground Operations, Cargo, and Provisioning Teams. They'll provide legendary Customer Service in the classroom while facilitating new hire, recurrent, and special initiative training covering safety, security, policy, procedure, and hospitality topics. They'll serve as a resource for frontline Employees, provide feedback on curriculum, and assist in maintaining and improving training materials to ensure consistency and effectiveness.

The Learning Instructor drives strong training compliance and readiness for BWI by leveraging strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for developing Employees who support safe and reliable operations.

Responsibilities:

• Instruct and facilitate classes
• Perform administrative tasks including classroom setup, duplication and distribution of materials, etc.
• Coordinate with Customer(s) to provide offerings to meet training needs
• Responsible for complying with all necessary paperwork, curriculum, and training materials associated with training program
• Present information with a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures
• Assist with and/or leads special projects
• Schedule classes based on availability of classrooms, equipment, or instructors
• Accurately represents content to all Customers (Instructors, Business, Sr. Leadership, Safety Risk Management, etc.)
• Attend meetings or seminars to obtain information for use in training programs or to inform management of training program status
• Provide coaching to class participants and feedback to their respective Leaders
• Prepare reports for Leadership to inform training updates and status and gauge effectiveness of scheduling
• May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
• Articulate communication and interpersonal skills
• Skilled in classroom management
• Knowledge of adult learning principles

Education:

• Required:
  
  High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

• Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
• classroom instruction, facilitation experience or relevant training experience
• public speaking
• Must be able to lift and move items of 70 pounds and/or more
• Preferred:
  At least one year of classroom training experience

Physical Abilities:

• Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
• Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Qualifications:

• Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
• Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to other locations to support operational needs, and occasional overnight stays required.

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $73,600 - 81,800
* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
