Nexus Family Healing is looking for a compassionate and tech-savvy Educational Technical Assistant to support teachers in a residential treatment center school environment. This role involves helping staff integrate technology into therapeutic and academic instruction, maintaining classroom devices, and ensuring smooth operation of digital learning tools. The ideal candidate will be patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges.

The Educational Technical Assistant (ETA) guides and supports the social and emotional learning, growth, and development of students. This position will provide educational and behavioral support to students and staff within assigned classes while fostering a positive learning environment. The ETA facilitates the delivery of educational content and differentiated instruction to individual students while under the direct instructional supervision of the teacher to whom they are assigned.
Primaryresponsibilities Facilitation of Differentiated Student Instruction
- Evaluates student individual educational plans (IEPs) and assessments; discerns student learning style and the accommodations or supplementary aids needed, to support student learning.
- Develops a tailored and individualized learning environment which includes scaffolded content, tools, resources and processes, needed to support differentiated instruction.
- Works in partnership with the head teacher, in identifying academic needs of individual students; participates in the development of student goals and outcomes and observes growth and progress.
- Works directly with students one on one, by approaching and working through areas of challenge and opportunity; provides follow up instructional support under the direction of the teacher.
- Selects and introduces the tools and resources to be used with each student for individualized learning; leverages one on one sessions, flash cards, manipulatives, educational software, small group instruction, visuals, color-coded examples, and other targeted educational interventions that support learning.
- Collects and tracks pertinent student data and information, including attendance, progress and behavioral tracking; collaborates with Registrar ensuring student records are accurate and current.
- Uses information from tracked student data to alert clinical and academic teams of concerns with a specific student and collaborates on developing targeted interventions to address student concerns.
- Works with instructional staff before and after school to develop individualized student lesson plans while understanding, supporting and incorporating treatment plans, guidance plans IEPs and BIPS.
- Assists in administering informal assessments of student academic skills including but not limited to Kolbe Math assessments, Read Naturally, I-Ready and classroom-based assessments.
- Supports group and teacher led instruction by monitoring and observing individual student participation and student learning and behavior while engaging with students in classroom activities.
- Delivers individual or small group instruction to students; supports students by answering questions, guiding activities and providing student supervision and oversight as needed by the teacher.
- Supports classroom effectiveness by creating and organizing differentiated instructional classroom materials that meet the needs of the individual learner.
- Emphasizes the importance of a healthy and positive learning environment by maintaining the cleanliness, appearance and integrity of an instructional environment, within the classroom.
- Supports the identification of meaningful and relevant online and physical classroom resources.
- Guides a positive learning environment by monitoring student behavior and providing emotional and behavioral supports as necessary while referencing student Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs).
