The Cardiac Electrophysiology Instructor is responsible for delivering high‑quality instruction to students enrolled in the Cardiac Electrophysiology program. This role includes teaching both theoretical knowledge and hands‑on clinical skills related to cardiac rhythm management, electrophysiology procedures, and cardiac device technologies. The instructor fosters a supportive and engaging learning environment that prepares students for certification and successful careers in cardiovascular healthcare.
Essential Role Responsibilities- Develop and deliver a curriculum aligned with national standards and certification requirements (e.g., IBHRE, RCES).
- Teach classroom, lab, and clinical components of the Cardiac Electrophysiology program.
- Utilize the learning management system (LMS), Canvas, to support online and hybrid instruction.
- Evaluate student performance through exams, practical assessments, and clinical evaluations.
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and grading.
- Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and national regulations governing allied health education.
- Collaborate with faculty and clinical partners to support student learning and program development.
- Provide mentorship and career guidance to students pursuing roles in cardiac electrophysiology.
- Participate in professional development and maintain current licensure and certifications.
- Current certification in Cardiac Electrophysiology (e.g., RCES, IBHRE) or licensed cardiovascular professional (e.g., RCIS, RN with EP experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in cardiac electrophysiology or related cardiovascular field.
- Previous teaching or training experience strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student success and academic excellence.
- Experience teaching in a community college, technical school, or healthcare education setting.
- Familiarity with electrophysiology lab equipment, cardiac mapping systems, and device programming.
- Knowledge of current trends and technologies in cardiac rhythm management.
- Bilingual abilities (if applicable to student population).
