Gerstell Academy seeks enthusiastic, nurturing, adaptable, and dependable Substitute Teachers to support our instructional program on an as-needed basis. Successful candidates will foster a positive learning environment, implement instructional plans provided by classroom teachers, and support students across a variety of grade levels and subject areas.
Instructional Responsibilities- Implement lesson plans and classroom procedures provided by the classroom teacher.
- Create a warm, engaging, and well-structured classroom environment that supports student learning and reflects Gerstell's leadership values.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
- Supervise students throughout the school day, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties.
- Support instruction in academic subjects and classroom activities as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Adapt instruction and activities to meet the developmental needs of students across various grade levels.
- Establish positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate classroom management.
- Communicate effectively with faculty and administrators regarding classroom experiences, student needs, and any concerns that arise during the school day.
- Uphold all school policies, procedures, and confidentiality expectations.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Educational background in early childhood, elementary, secondary education, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience working with children or adolescents in a school, camp, childcare, coaching, tutoring, or youth-centered setting strongly preferred.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students from Pre-K through Grade 12.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated flexibility, patience, professionalism, and enthusiasm for working with students.
- Commitment to supporting a values-based, leadership-focused school community.
