Job DutiesThe Department of Advanced Studies, Leadership, and Policy producesthe largest number of doctoral graduates of any department in the university. It is a vibrant community of scholars drawn from fivespecialist areas:
Higher Education Administration, Mathematics Education, Science Education, Community College Leadership, and Urban Educational Leadership. The department includes 19 full-time faculty members and several part-time and adjunct faculty members. Position:
The Department of Advanced Studies, Leadership and Policyin the School of Education and Urban Studies at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, seeks an outstanding candidate for a faculty position in the Community College Leadership Program.
This is a non-tenured Research Lecturer position with a strongresearch background, beginning in fall 2026.
- Responsible for educating students, conductingresearch, and contributing to the advancement of communitycolleges.
- Responsible for the research arm of the Community College Leadership Program.
- Assist the program, students, and other faculty with researchmethodologies and practices.
- Provide academic counseling and mentorship, and foster acollaborative learning environment.
- Pursue research projects, publish findings in academic journals,and contribute to the scholarly community focused on communitycolleges.
Minimum Qualifications
The PhD or EdD with specialization in quantitative, qualitative,and/or mixed methods research is preferred. Candidates should havegraduate-level (Master’s and doctoral) teaching experience, be competent in guiding doctoral students’ research and dissertations,and have scholarly publications. Online teaching experience is preferred. The candidate needs exemplary writing skills.
In addition, the candidate should possess a strong commitment toworking with an ethnically and culturally diverse student population and be able to contribute to the mission of the Schoolof Education and Urban Studies and the University.
