The University of Maryland School of Social Work (UMSSW) invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant,Associate, or Full Professor level.

We seek scholars who are committed to advancing knowledge, driving meaningful social impact,and preparing the next generation of leaders in social work.

We welcome candidates with an earned doctorate in social work or arelated social or health science discipline who demonstrate:

• A strong, externally fundable research agenda with high-impact scholarly potential
• A commitment to excellence in teaching, mentorship, and student success
• A dedication to advancing equity and justice through anti-oppressive and anti-racist approaches
• A collaborative spirit that advances interdisciplinary research and community-engaged partnerships

We are particularly interested in scholars whose work focuseson:

• Practice or services research with low-income or underserved individuals and families
• Health and behavioral health disparities
• Child welfare, IPV, and trauma work
• Community-engaged and translational research that bridges research, practice, and policy
• Advanced clinical, intervention, and/or research methodology

A PhD in social work or similar fields plus an MSW with at leasttwo years of practice experience is required for teaching in theMSW program. Senior candidates (Associate/Full Professor) should demonstrate a record of leadership, sustained extramural funding,and a commitment to mentoring junior faculty and fostering inclusive academic communities.

The hiring range for these positions is $95,000 to $160,000,based on rank.
