About Advanced Academic Programs

Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) is a division of Johns Hopkins University's Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. AAP offers rigorous master's degrees at the Hopkins Bloomberg Center in Washington, DC, at the Homewood campus in Baltimore, Maryland, and online. AAP distinguishes itself through intensive instructional assistance, selective admissions, and over 60 dedicated full‑time faculty. Tenured Krieger School faculty members serve as program chairs overseeing the academic rigor of AAP’s graduate offerings.

Position

Description

We invite applications to fill adjunct teaching, non‑tenure‑track, semester‑by‑semester hire positions. Depending on program needs, adjunct faculty may be asked to teach one or more courses per year, either onsite, online, or in a combined format for MS in Financial Economics programs. The adjunct instructor will report to the program director for the MS in Financial Economics program.

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this position is: $8,755 - $9,270 per course.

Fall 2025 Course Topics

Financial Economics, Financial Econometrics, Financial Intermediation, Investments and Financial Management, Behavioral Economics and Finance, Derivatives.

Qualifications

The adjunct must have a passion for education and its power to change lives, especially for international, part‑time, and non‑residential students. A track record of successful graduate and/or online teaching is required. Candidates who have experience teaching and engaging students from diverse backgrounds are of particular interest. Qualified candidates will meet a set of minimum qualifications and several additional preferred qualifications.

Minimum

Qualification
  • Master’s degree in Economics, or in a related field (e.g., Finance).
  • One or more years of combined in‑person and online teaching experience at the graduate level.
  • One or more years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in Economics or related field (e.g., Finance).
  • Several years of combined in‑person and online teaching experience at the graduate level.
  • Several years of related work experience.
