Out of School Time Teacher

The YMCA is seeking an Out of School Time Teacher to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for school-age youth. In this role, you will lead enrichment activities, homework help, and social-emotional learning that reflect YMCA values. You will supervise groups, support positive behavior, and communicate with families and school partners. Ideal candidates have experience working with children, strong classroom management, and a passion for youth development and community impact within a mission-driven nonprofit setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate after-school activities focused on enrichment, homework support, and social-emotional growth
• Supervise youth to ensure safety, positive behavior, and adherence to YMCA policies and values
• Build supportive relationships with children and families, fostering inclusion and respect for diverse backgrounds
• Collaborate with site coordinators, teachers, and volunteers to deliver high-quality OST programming
• Track attendance, support basic documentation, and communicate regularly with parents/guardians
• Model YMCA core values and support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility
