• Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Visual Impairments, or a closely related field
• Experience working with K-12 students who are blind or have low vision
• Strong knowledge of Braille instruction, assistive technology, and accessible materials
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
• Ability to create and adapt lesson plans for a range of visual abilities
• Compassion, patience, and a solutions-focused mindset

• Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments as outlined in their IEPs
• Assess students’ unique visual needs and recommend appropriate accommodations or modifications
• Instruct in Braille, orientation and mobility concepts, and the use of assistive devices
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accessible learning environments
• Support classroom teachers by adapting instructional materials and strategies
• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and goal setting
• Advocate for students’ inclusion and equal access to educational opportunities

Compensation for this position ranges from $27.50 to $47.50.
