The Out of School Time Site Director at The YMCA leads daily operations of a licensed, mission-driven youth program serving school-age children. This role oversees staff, curriculum, and safety to deliver high-quality academic support, enrichment, and recreation aligned with YMCA values. The Director builds strong relationships with families, schools, and community partners, ensures compliance with licensing and risk management standards, manages budgets and enrollment, and promotes an inclusive, engaging environment that supports youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in a nonprofit, community-focused setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of Out of School Time (OST) site to ensure a safe, inclusive, nurturing environment for youth.
- Supervise, schedule, and coach staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality academic, enrichment, and recreation activities.
- Implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum aligned with YMCA youth development and educational goals.
- Build strong relationships with children, families, school partners, and community organizations.
- Monitor program quality, enrollment, attendance, and behavior management; use data for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, safety, risk management, and YMCA policies and procedures.
- Manage site budget, supplies, and program resources efficiently.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding youth progress, program updates, and community resources.
- Support staff training in youth development, behavior guidance, safety, and inclusion.
- Promote YMCA mission, values, and culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all program areas.
Required Skills
- Program management for out-of-school time or after school programs
- Staff supervision, coaching, and scheduling
- Curriculum planning for school-age youth (academic and enrichment)

- Knowledge of state childcare/licensing regulations and safety standards
