DescriptionThe Johns Hopkins Department of Sociology seeks a sociologist of outstanding international reputation or promise for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Sociology. This position requires a PhD in Sociology. Priority will be given to a candidate with strong quantitative and computational skills and research focus on historical sociology and/or theory. Job duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in sociology, conducting empirical research in high-impact fields of sociology, and advising undergraduate and graduate students.

QualificationsREQUIREMENTS:
Ph.D. in Sociology or related field.
Successful candidates will have a record of excellent empirical research in any field(s) of sociology and will join a growing, vibrant Department of Sociology within a School and University that foster a wide range of interdisciplinary conversations and collaborations. Applicants should have a record of published scholarship in sociology.
