The Special Education State Personnel Development Grant Coordinator develops personnel preparation and professional learning strategies to build systemic capacity in schools for students with disabilities. The coordinator works with MSDE divisions, schools, universities, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of special education guidance with agency-wide priorities, implements inclusive practices, and provides technical assistance and coaching to local education agencies and building-level leaders.
Keyqualifications:
- Master's Degree or equivalent 36 post-baccalaureate credit hours in Education, Special Education, or related field
- Four years of professional administrative experience in or affiliated with special education or early intervention programs
- One year of experience with federal program administration specific to special education
- Experience with special education program administration and regulations
- Experience providing technical assistance to Local Education Agencies regarding IDEA and COMAR compliance
